This week, Republican insurrectionist Madison Cawthorn was defeated at the ballot box. Western North Carolina rejected his extremist views and officially made him a one-term representative.

These results were a telling sign that NC-11 is ready for change. We deserve a real leader to represent our values, and that leader is Jasmine. But these next few months won’t be easy by any means.

Cawthorn may have lost, but make no mistake – Jasmine’s new opponent, Republican Chuck Edwards, shares the same extreme political values as Cawthorn.

He is running to continue the political legacy of Mark Meadows and Madison Cawthorn, the last two Republican Congressmen representing WNC.

Edwards has refused to call January 6th an insurrection, he’s anti-choice, and he won the GOP primary with dark money and dirty politics. He’s already benefitted from $1.4 million in outside spending to tip the scales in his favor.

And just like Cawthorn, Edwards is vulnerable. With all that dark money, and the support of Senator Thom Tillis and the entire NC GOP establishment, Edwards only won three out of fifteen counties, and lost the Election Day vote total.

Jasmine is heading into the general election with all the momentum in this race after winning every county in the district and 60% of the vote in the primary.
