The unique problem with single-use plastics (that include both plastic film and expanded polystyrene) is that they are rarely recycled. In fact, most California recycling plants don’t even accept these products. Instead, these plastics either end up in landfills or are incinerated – both of which have devastating environmental consequences. And even worse, a huge percentage of these discarded plastics end up littered, polluting our waterways and harming wildlife. That’s why we’re urging the California State Assembly to pass AB 2026 to phase out the harmful use of non-recyclable plastics in online shopping. Please join our effort by calling your Assemblymember today » This bill would be a meaningful step toward eliminating some of the most noxious pollutants. Let’s get it done! |
