John, if one thing is clear about the recent Republican primaries, it’s that Donald Trump’s grip on the Republican Party has never been stronger.

In Ohio, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania, GOP candidates have stumbled over each other in contests purely focused on getting Trump’s stamp of approval. Instead of trying to convince voters that they’re fit to lead, they’re centering their campaigns on showcasing how they’re more MAGA-crazed than their opponents.

This isn’t just happening in those states either. The leading GOP candidate in my own upcoming jungle primary is a QAnon conspiracy theorist supported by Trump’s cronies Roger Stone and Michael Flynn.
