I hope this email finds you well! I am reaching out because Families USA is hiring a new Director of Maternal and Child Health. I would love for you to come work with me or to enlist you in sharing this exciting opportunity with any colleagues who might be interested in applying.
This senior-level Director role will be charged with leading our MCH portfolio, including federal and state project work focused on improving and maternal and child health equity and outcomes. The ideal candidate will:
- Provide leadership and strategic thinking to develop and advance MCH policy and advocacy priorities.
- Lead project teams, including envisioning highly impactful projects; establishing priorities, developing project plans, key milestones, and deliverables; adapting such plans, and assisting project teams to troubleshoot to achieve MCH goals.
- Work with state and federal policymakers to advance priorities, providing strategic input and technical assistance on MCH policy issues.
- Represent Families USA with the media on policy advisory panels, coalitions, and working groups on MCH policy priorities.
- Coordinate and collaborate with state and national advocates surrounding MCH policy initiatives.
- Prepare and publish high-quality memoranda, regulatory comments, issue briefs, fact sheets, reports, white papers, legislative language, grant proposals, advocacy guides, blogs, and other materials.
We are looking for someone with a minimum of 10 years of experience in leading and advocating for maternal and child health policies and a Master’s degree, J.D. or Ph.D., in health policy, public health or public policy.
Please note, this is a DC-based position that requires a hybrid/3-day per week in-office commitment.
