| | Democrats' Extreme and Disastrous Energy Policies |
Chairman Kyle Hupfer speaks with Fox59 about the 2022 primary elections. |
“We would work [fossil fuels] out. We would make sure it's eliminated."
“I’ve argued against any more oil drilling or gas drilling on federal lands...I would not allow any more." “A transition [from fossil fuels]…it’s going to have to happen.”
Those were just a few of the times Joe Biden stated his extreme position of crippling American energy production while on the campaign trail, a position he's since acted on as president. On day one, he suspended the approval of leases, drilling permits, and mining operations on federal lands and canceled the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline (which killed 11,000 American jobs). He also reinstated Obama-era regulations and implemented new ones too that only discourage American energy production. And just a few days ago, he canceled oil and gas lease sales which removed millions of acres from possible drilling as gas prices reach record highs.
But while taking these actions here at home, he's been busy begging other countries like Iran, Venezuela, and Saudi Arabia to increase oil production. In an editorial on Monday, the Wall Street Journal perfectly described these contradictory actions as a "triumph of ideology over reason."
And yesterday, during a hearing on energy and natural resources, U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy asked Joe Biden's Secretary of Interior Deb Haaland a very simple question: "Is it more environmentally friendly to develop and produce oil and gas in the U.S. or in foreign countries, like Venezuela?" Her response? "I'm not an economist or engineer."
As long as this administration is beholden to the priorities of the far-left, Americans will continue to suffer, paying record high gas prices in the process. And to paraphrase U.S. Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana, cars don't run off "pixie dust and unicorn urine," they take gas, and that comes from oil.

Sen. Young Discusses Holding China Accountable, American Leadership |
Last Tuesday, Sen. Todd Young spoke on a panel hosted by the Foundation for Defense of Democracies with former national security advisor to President Trump, H.R. McMaster, on the threats posed by the Chinese Communist Party to America’s economy and national security, and the ways in which Washington should address them, including through Sen. Young's U.S. Innovation and Competition Act.
You can watch the full discussion by clicking above, and an excerpt is below.
"If you were to assess our assets versus our liabilities as a country… I think of our best system of higher ed, our broadest deeper capital markets in the world. I think of our culture of entrepreneurship that celebrates people who try and fail and get up and dust off their trousers and try again, our history of immigration, welcoming people, as long as they want to come here and contribute and be part of the American experiment, our written constitution, rule of law, on and on and on. We can all list off all these assets. And about the only thing as I talk to my constituents, that they lament is our inability for Washington, DC to work, to set bold new national policy when needed.
"We have an opportunity here to prove to the Chinese Communist Party, to prove to those skeptics who indicate that an authoritarian system is going to win the 21st century, that can mobilize all those assets in service of our values. And I believe it’s going to happen." |
