John,
With both the Maine GOP and the Maine Dems conventions behind us, it’s never been more clear what’s at stake this November.
The Maine GOP used their time together to bring their culture wars to the next level. On the first day, Maine Republicans voted to officially adopt a platform that would turn back the clock on abortion rights, same-sex marriage, and Mainers’ other fundamental freedoms.
The Maine GOP’s platform represents the views of a radical few, not the will of Mainers voters. Now, we need to come together if we want to stop them. Can you help us stop Maine Republicans from taking away our rights with a donation of $5, $10, $20.22, $50, $100 or whatever you can? [link removed]
At the Maine Dems Convention last weekend, Democrats from across the state came together to celebrate the accomplishments of Gov. Mills and Democrats in the legislature, like expanding Medicaid, banning conversion therapy, and just recently sending $850 direct checks to Mainers.
We also officially approved a platform that prioritizes protecting Mainers and our rights – whether it be the right to an abortion or the right to merely exist freely and safely as a LGBTQ+ person – instead of stripping those freedoms away.
With both Conventions over it is clear: the Maine GOP wants to control Mainers’ personal decisions and take away their freedom. Maine Democrats want to address the real issues facing our state and work towards a brighter future for all.
It’s obvious that the Maine GOP’s priority is spreading their radical agenda, not helping Mainers. But under Gov. Mills, Maine Dems have been fighting for what we really need every day. It’s time to join the fight and help re-elect Gov. Mills and Democrats statewide. [link removed]
