Friend — this is urgent.
Major climate legislation in Congress — our best shot at fighting climate change — is up against a serious political deadline. Realistically, the most important window to pass the bill is before Memorial Day -- and we have a shot. The bill has already cleared the House, and we can get this passed with a simple 50-vote majority in the Senate.
But we need your help. That May deadline is imminent, and unless we make noise
right now, we risk losing our shot until after the November elections. We’re campaigning around the clock and have even flown in activists from all around the country to get this over the finish line.
We need to go big, Friend, so we’re asking:
Please pitch in to support our campaign today. These funds will help us keep the pressure on Congress to pass a real climate bill now. Help reach our $25,000 goal -- even $5 can make a difference right now >>
Our campaign represents our most significant environmental campaign — on the most important climate legislation — in a generation. But I want you to know -- even as we campaign for historic climate legislation from Congress, our policy teams are working to push forward HUGE environmental policies within the Biden-Harris administration.
In the coming months, the federal government will weigh
stricter ozone limits, decide whether to
cut climate pollution from power plants, and consider
restricting the use of mercury and other air toxins. They’ll have the chance to
reduce car and truck emissions and to
rein in methane pollution from the oil and gas industry. And finally, they have a chance to
hold the oil and gas industry accountable for their emissions while
putting a stop to future drilling on public land.
We are scaling up a pressure campaign on President Biden to seize these opportunities to roll out historic new environmental initiatives. Because these are executive actions, he can move them forward
without Congress.
Here’s the catch — unless the federal government hears from the environmental movement in a MAJOR way, we won’t win these important fights. Bottom line -- we need to go all out.
Not just with Congress. Not just with President Biden.
Both.
We simply cannot allow corporate polluters to have the loudest voice or to fill all the seats at the table. We
must create a drumbeat calling for change that makes our communities and planet safe and healthy. But to pull that off, we need you, Friend.
Can you help power our campaigns to pass climate action and protect our air and water? Pitch in today by making a gift — even $5 helps our campaign. >>
