We agree, John – and so do many Americans. Since the conservative takeover led by Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell, public confidence in SCOTUS has collapsed by 40 percentage points.
So where do we go from here? Well, at the NDRC, our strategy to end gerrymandering, protect voting rights, and strengthen our democracy has never depended on any one court. And especially at a time when we can’t rely on the nation’s highest court to defend our rights and our system of government, it’s more vital than ever that we use every tool we can in our fight.
2022 will be a critical year for us. We’re working to hold Republicans accountable for their anti-democratic gerrymandering, we’re still fighting for fair maps in the states, and we’re working to help elect Democrats who will protect our democracy.
