John, not being able to feed your baby is a parent’s worst nightmare.

But with more than 40 percent of infant formulas out of stock across the country, it’s a situation that low-income families and families of color know too well as they bear the brunt of the formula crisis that’s impacting millions.

I joined a bipartisan group of mothers in Congress in calling on the Biden administration to bolster its efforts to get baby formula back on the shelves as quickly as possible — and conduct a thorough evaluation of the formula supply chain in order to prevent a critical breakdown from happening again.

The formula crisis serves as a reminder that one of the best ways to support working families and fight child poverty is through the expanded Child Tax Credit that Democrats delivered through the American Rescue Plan last year.

But as we work to address the crisis and get formula back on shelves, it’s not lost on me that the Republican Party chose to push 3.7 million children back into poverty last fall by allowing the expanded Child Tax Credit to expire.

It shouldn’t take a nationwide shortage to realize how critical the expanded Child Tax Credit is to millions of families. Sign my petition today to join me in demanding my colleagues work to reinstate the Child Tax Credit at once: [[link removed]]

When November rolls around, don’t forget it was the GOP that allowed the expanded Child Tax Credit to expire last fall. Simply unconscionable for a party that claims to be “pro-life.”

In solidarity,
