One of the leaders of the GOP's efforts to retake both houses of Congress recently released a 60-page policy plan that includes an alarming proposal: he wants to raise taxes on working families.

Let's take a step back and compare the two parties: Democrats like Jennifer support policies to lower the cost of living (such as the expanded child tax credit), while top Republicans think we need to make millions of hard-working Americans pay even more.

This is a predictable playbook. Republicans will pass tax cuts for their wealthiest friends and corporations. Then, when these tax cuts cause the deficit to balloon, they say that it's time to cut programs like Social Security and Medicare and put the burden on the middle class.
