John — Chris Hayes from MSNBC just broke down exactly who Josh Shapiro is running against in this election: “a full-out insurrectionist, coup plotter is now a stone throw away from running one of most swing states in the country.”

This isn’t hyperbole or exaggeration. Mastriano isn’t just a dangerous extremist, he was actively involved in overturning the election in 2020 — and pledged to do it again in 2024 if given the chance.

“Mastriano is unfit to be Governor,” according to Chris Hayes, and that much is extremely clear. From declaring he’ll ban abortion, bust unions, and overthrow a democratically-elected government — Mastriano is too extreme and too dangerous to run Pennsylvania.

To defeat Doug Mastriano in November, we need a rush of resources to be able to compete. Can you make your first contribution right now to help defend our democracy? [[link removed]]

But what’s scary is that Mastriano has support in GOP circles — he won his primary by a huge margin.

This race is going to be so close — and we cannot take it for granted that we will defeat such an extreme candidate.

As Hayes said, “mark my words, Mastriano can win. Pennsylvania is a swing state — November is shaping up to be very tough sledding for Democrats.”

It is not an exaggeration to say that the future of our democracy is on the line, and it’s critical that Josh Shapiro wins this race so the will of the voters is safeguarded.

Chris Hayes laid out how high the stakes of this election are — and how serious the threat of a Mastriano Administration would be in Pennsylvania. Will you help this campaign win by donating $5 today to our Defenders of Democracy Fund? [[link removed]]
