Dear friends,
Earlier this year, Assemblymember Buffy Wicks introduced a game-changing housing bill to the State Legislature.
AB 2011 fastracks new affordable housing on land zoned for commercial uses, and includes strong provisions for affordability, labor standards, and environmental protection.
If passed, this bill will legalize the construction of millions of naturally-affordable homes throughout California, while promoting climate-friendly development on sites close to jobs and transit – and ensuring construction workers have good pay and health benefits.
California YIMBY is partnering with Assemblymember Wicks to support AB 2011 – can you join us by adding your name today?

Recent analysis suggests this bill would enable nearly 2 million affordable homes to be built in Santa Clara and Los Angeles counties alone. That’s just two counties – but imagine what this bill could do state-wide.
AB 2011 is co-sponsored by the California Conference of Carpenters, and supported by the likes of SEIU California and the California School Employees Association. It’s no wonder editorial boards like the Sacramento Bee are lining up to endorse the bill.

Thanks for your support, and we’ll have more legislative updates for you shortly as we approach the first-house deadline in the State Legislature.
Gratefully,
Team California YIMBY
