Hi John,
We are excited to share that 100% of our Pennsylvania endorsees (eleven out of eleven) have won their races! In particular, we are proud that two of our priority endorsees in Pennsylvania have won their primaries, and in the process defeated unprecedented AIPAC money! Thank you to those who supported these candidates and our mobilization efforts on their behalf.
Tarik Khan unseated decade-long incumbent Pam DeLissio to become the first Muslim and Pakistani American to win a state house seat in Pennsylvania. Khan is a frontline nurse committed to supporting vulnerable populations. Congratulations Tarik!
Summer Lee overcame a vicious AIPAC-funded campaign to win her primary elections as she seeks to become the first African American Congresswoman in Pennsylvania. We are proud that the work that her campaign and organizers who knocked on doors, made calls, and turned out voters everyday until election day, helped bring this one home. We endorsed Summer Lee because she is a dedicated organizer, activist, and advocate for social justice.
But our work is not done. AIPAC is targeting candidates in upcoming primaries who dare uphold Palestinian rights and a genuine progressive agenda. We saw this in how they spent over $3 million on a deeply dishonest, racist, and sexist campaign with the intent of delegitimizing and defeating Summer Lee. Because we came together and got the vote, she was able to narrowly succeed.
As we move into other congressional races across the country, it is important that we replicate this success- in particular, for Rep. Marie Newman and Rep. Andy Levin. These two individuals have a long history of standing up for Palestinian rights, and as a result, AIPAC has again invested vast resources in an effort to ensure that they lose their races. We cannot let this happen. Emgage PAC will support these two candidates to our fullest capacity and ensure that Muslim Americans get out the vote to ensure a more inclusive future for our nation.
Join us as we work to elect candidates that represent our values. Consider investing in Emgage PAC today.
