We have to meet voters where they are

Team, my name is Lily, and I’m part of the communications team here at AZ Dems.
I’m writing to tell you about a new voter outreach tool to make sure we’re getting important messaging out to younger voters. Yes, what I’m saying is we’re now on TikTok!
Now if you’re not on TikTok you may be wondering why this matters. Well, it matters because, in order to flip Arizona blue, we need to reach every single voter. That means we have to get our messaging out to young voters, who have increasingly turned to social media platforms like TikTok to consume news and stay informed.
Team, as the person who runs AZ Dems TikTok account, I promise you this will be a key tool when reaching voters across the state and the country. But creating video content every day requires hard work and people. Can you donate $5 today to help us continue our communication and voter outreach through social media channels like TikTok?

There’s no question about it: in the modern day, we are living in a highly digitized, super fast-paced world. Everyone and anyone — especially young people — are using the internet and social media for things as small as sharing their latest meal to things as monumental as starting nationwide movements. They no longer get their information from more traditional sources.
Our team is all about reaching and supporting underrepresented voter populations, which includes young voters — the main users of TikTok’s platform. That’s why it is so important for our team to meet these voters where they are and be a resource for all things Arizona.
On TikTok, we’ll be sharing short, punchy, and easily digestible videos daily, each of which has the potential to reach anywhere from thousands to millions of people. We especially want to interact with and appeal to young voters by meeting them where they’re at to connect with them on a personal level about why it’s so important to be a part of the democratic process.
Not to mention, we want to showcase Democratic policies side by side with GOP hypocrisy so that people understand the issues Democrats in Arizona are under as they go up against radical, extremist right-winger policies and people.
It probably feels just as strange to you as it does to me, but I cannot express enough how crucial social media is to voter outreach. We need your support to get this off the ground.
