THE AD COUNCIL

CREATE + CHANGE | MAY 2022

Our ongoing work to support racial justice, diversity and inclusion, mental health, and gun safety reflects our values as an organization, and we’ve been devastated by the news of the racist and hate-filled shootings in New York, Texas and California. We must come together to create a culture free of racism, hatred and violence in all forms—and we must do everything we can to support each other until that day comes.

Read on to learn more about all our latest news, including a new video focused on mental health from Lin-Manuel Miranda and the Miranda family, a special announcement about industry leaders joining our Board of Directors, and more.

New Work Encourages Early Life-Saving Scans for Lung Cancer

Lung cancer screening is key to early diagnosis, and early diagnosis saves lives—but less than six percent of those at high risk have been screened. The Ad Council and the American Lung Association have released new creative called “A Hope Story” as a part of our “Saved By The Scan” campaign. Created pro bono by advertising agency Hill Holliday, this new work educates people who smoke and used to smoke about the low-dose CT scan that can detect lung cancer in the early stages, when the disease is more curable. Watch a PSA.
