I am so very proud of the work we've done together. Thank you for everything you've done to help me get to this point - and be the Democratic Nominee for Governor of Oregon.
Despite this accomplishment, we can't rest on our laurels. We know everything is at stake in November. From abortion access to protecting the planet to standing up for working people, we can't let extreme Republicans and Betsy Johnson take us backwards.
When it comes to reproductive health care, Oregonians face a real choice – between a candidate who led the fight to ensure that reproductive rights are protected in Oregon no matter what happens at the Supreme Court and opponents who have failed to provide that kind of strong leadership or who outright want to overturn Roe v. Wade.
When it comes to protecting our land, water and air and when it comes to addressing climate change, the choice is clear: I have fought to hold polluters accountable and protect our environment while my opponents have sided with corporate special interests.
When it comes to standing on the side of hard-working Oregonians, I led the fight to increase the minimum wage and ensure parents can take care of newborn children or sick parents, while my opponents voted against working families.
I'm running for Governor because Oregonians deserve a strong, effective leader who shares their values.
We can tackle our housing crisis, get Oregonians off the streets, and ensure that everyone has access to affordable housing. We can build a public education system that gives all children every opportunity to succeed. We can transition to 100% clean energy and do our part to combat climate change and protect our communities on the frontlines of climate disruption. We can get illegal guns off the streets and make our communities safer. We can put more money in the pockets of working Oregonians.
This is what's at stake this November. We can choose to move forward, or we can go back.
