John,
When wealthy corporations dodge taxes, it limits our ability to invest in working families and marginalized communities. That’s why, when we see Amazon paying just a 5% tax rate on $80 billion in profits over the last 4 years, when the average American taxpayer pays a 13% federal income tax rate, you know something’s wrong.1,2
In fact, in 2018, Amazon paid $0 in federal income taxes! Now we have a chance to change that.
Next Wednesday, Amazon shareholders will vote on a motion to hold Amazon accountable by requiring it to disclose its revenues, profits, and taxes in each of the countries where it books income. This will expose Amazon’s shifting of profits offshore to avoid paying what it owes in taxes here at home.
We’ll deliver your signature directly to Amazon shareholders before the vote. Sign the petition urging all Amazon shareholders to vote in favor of Amazon Shareholder Proposal #12: Tax Transparency.

Amazon tried to kill the motion, but the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has ruled it must be voted on―essentially giving all of us some voice in how this giant corporation operates.
Profit-shifting by corporations is estimated to cost the U.S. government as much as $100 billion in lost tax revenue every year.3 That’s money that could go toward expanding the Child Tax Credit for millions of families or making home care more affordable for the aging and people with disabilities.
Sign the petition today urging Amazon shareholders to vote to hold Amazon accountable and require it to disclose its revenue, profits, and taxes in each of the countries where it books income.
Such information will enable shareholders and the public at large to identify the extent to which Amazon shifts profits offshore from America in order to avoid paying its fair share of taxes here at home.
Thank you for taking action today,
