House Democrats Respond to Special Session Announcement

OKLAHOMA CITY – House Democrats released the following statements today after legislative Republicans called a special session to move the approving authority for American Rescue Plan funds from the executive branch to the Legislature.

Rep. Monroe Nichols, D-Tulsa:
“Today, the Legislature in a bipartisan fashion declared Governor Kevin Stitt can’t be trusted and is unfit to lead Oklahoma during this crucial time in our state’s history. Scandals, disinformation, disfunction, and incompetence led to this historic action by the Legislature. Read more...

Oklahoma County held their monthly members meeting at the Belle Isle library with several candidates as guests as well as labor support.

 

Garfield County Democratic Party held their first in person dinner meeting since 2019 on May 7th, catered by Blaze BBQ.

 

Cherokee County Democrats held a Ribbon Cutting ceremony at their new Cherokee County Democrats Headquarters!

 

Tulsa County Democratic Party enjoyed a patio dinner at the Ridge Grill for their May monthly meeting!

 

Pontotoc Democrats were out helping to register voters!

 

Congressional District 2 Democratic Party gathered for their Officers and Members meeting at Martin Luther King Community Center.

DRAG'EM TO THE POLLS

ODP will be hosting two very fun voter registration events in June for LGBTQ+ Pride Month. “Drag‘Em to The Polls” will feature ordinary women and men performing in drag to engage new voters.
