Dear Jack,

Another week, another MP arrested for alleged sex crimes. British politics is descending into a tawdry farce, the news an endless stream of scandals and sleaze stories.

Meanwhile, in the real world away from Westminster, people are struggling with a cost-of-living crisis, raging inflation and unaffordable energy bills.

The old political parties have failed us. It’s time for #SomethingDifferent. It’s time for Reform.

That’s why our campaign for next month’s by-election in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, is so important. It is our chance to send Parliament a message that people in places like Wakefield won’t be treated like fools again.

If we do as well as we hope in Wakefield, this could be the start of Reform UK becoming a major player in the ‘Red Wall’ seats of the North and Midlands. The response on the doorstep has been excellent. Now we need to turn that vocal agreement into votes, with whatever support you can give us.

The by-election, caused by the resignation of Conservative MP Imran Ahmad Khan who was convicted of sexual assault, will take place on 23rd June—the sixth anniversary of the EU referendum, when 17.4 million people voted to Leave the European Union.

In Wakefield in 2016, 66.4% voted Leave. Then in 2019, Boris Johnson’s Tories took this and other ‘Red Wall’ seats from Labour by promising to take back control and ‘get Brexit done’.

Yet more than two years after Boris secured his half-baked Brexit deal, our laws and economy remain bogged down in EU red tape; Northern Ireland remains effectively under Brussels control; our seas are still being plundered by French fishermen; and our borders still look more like an open door for people-smuggling gangs.

So much for taking back control. It is time to remind the Tories that they don’t own Brexit. The people who won it do.

As for Keir Starmer’s Labour Party, they are trying to creep back into Wakefield by playing the ‘honesty’ card. Do they honestly think Wakefield voters are daft enough to forget how Labour took them for granted when it held the seat for more than 80 years?

Now Labour’s national leadership has rigged its selection process and parachuted a Remainer party hack into Wakefield from outside the constituency, prompting the entire local executive to resign. So much for Starmer’s Labour having ‘moved on’.

By contrast Chris Walsh, our outstanding Reform UK candidate in Wakefield, is a local gym owner and businessman and married father of two.

Chris is the only candidate standing for big tax cuts now and developing our own energy industry, as the way to fuel the growth that can cope with the cost-of-living crisis and make ‘levelling up’ a reality.

The Wakefield by-election could be a key moment in shaking up British politics. Please help by donating whatever you can spare. We know times are tough, but every penny will be spent on Chris’s campaign.

Better yet, come and join our brilliant campaigning and canvassing teams in Wakefield this weekend. Meet on Saturday from 10am and Sunday from 11am, at the Holmfield Arms, Denby Dale Rd, Wakefield WF2 8DY.

Many thanks,
