🌹 Saturday: Fight for Abortion Rights with DSA 🌹
|
These past few weeks, thousands of working people have taken to the streets to fight for reproductive rights. DSA has been fighting with the people by turning out our members, organizing protesters, and saying loud and clear that Abortion is a Human Right! If we want to stop the Supreme Court from overturning Roe v Wade and allowing Governor Kemp to ban abortion in Georgia, we'll need to get organized in our neighborhoods and workplaces.
|
This Saturday, May 21st at 4:00 PM we're meeting at the AFSC Office (711 Catherine St SW) to talk with guest speakers from Feminist Women's Health Center and Amplify GA about the Roe repeal and how we can fight back against these far-right, anti-democratic attacks. We are a democratic organization with discussion-based meetings that are open to non-members, so please join us this Saturday!
You can find full general meeting info at atldsa.org/gm and read the full agenda at atldsa.org/agenda. We previously published the old AFSC office address in error; the meeting will be held at the new AFSC office address, 711 Catherine St SW Atlanta GA 30310.

☕Starbucks Solidarity Sip-In☕
|
The Starbucks workers at Ansley Mall have filed for a union and need your support! All over the country, Starbucks management is cracking down and engaging in illegal union busting tactics, so we've got to let the workers know that their local community supports a union "yes" vote.
Join us next Saturday May 21st from 2:00-3:00 PM for a Solidarity "Sip in". Visit the Starbucks at Ansley Mall (1544 Piedmont Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30324) and order a drink under the name "Union Yes" to show the workers you support the union. Don't forget to leave a cash tip!
|
If you're a DSA member, remember to wear red! Plus, come early to get a Starbucks United Button. Afterwards at 4:00 PM we'll head over to our monthly membership meeting: atldsa.org/gm. And mark your calendar for the next Saturday, May 28th from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM for a Starbucks Solidarity flyering as well (RSVP: atldsa.org/sbuxflyer).

For 13 years, Atlanta DSA's Douglass-Debs dinner has brought together Atlanta’s progressive community to honor outstanding role models and leaders, celebrate our accomplishments during the past year, and enjoy an evening of comradeship.
This year, our keynote speaker will be AFL-CIO Southern Regional Director Charles Clark. We will host the 2022 Douglass-Debs Dinner in the IBEW hall on Pulliam Street in downtown Atlanta on Friday, June 3, 2022.
The dinner is a great opportunity to meet with other community activists and hear from inspiring speakers. Tickets are $50, with reduced-cost tickets available for students and other low-income comrades. We look forward to seeing you there!
