My final week in the legislature will be bittersweet.

I will be a bit sad to say goodbye to so many great friends and allies, who I’ve worked alongside for more than a decade to make a real difference in the lives of Minnesotans.

Thankfully, as County Attorney, I will continue to work with my colleagues, local agencies and dedicated allies throughout Hennepin County.

Carrying the lessons of 15 years leading, consensus building and policy-making, I look forward to continuing public service and bringing much needed change to our public safety system.

By Sunday night, we’ll have reached the budget deadline. My hope is that we’ll be able to pass and make good use of the hundreds of millions of dollars allocated to the public safety budget. I will be working up until the last minute to deliver for the people in our county and across Minnesota by the end of the weekend.
