[ [link removed] ]Welch for Vermont
Hello,
From the Vermont Senate to the U.S. House, I’ve always been able to work
across the aisle to deliver results for the people I’ve represented. I’ve
always been able to find common ground by listening more than I talk—by
focusing on solutions more than who gets the credit.
And it’s still possible today. Just a few months ago, we got over 100
House Republicans to support the Postal Service Reform Act. I’m running
this race to represent Vermont’s problem-solving spirit in the Senate.
But if Mitch McConnell takes back control, he’ll put progress out of
reach. He’s one Republican who doesn’t know the meaning of the phrase
“common ground”—it’s his way or the highway. He’s blocked—or tried to
block—COVID relief, common-sense gun safety, affordable childcare, voting
rights, and the list goes on. He’s chosen gridlock over governing.
It’s crucial that we keep the Senate majority out of the hands of Mitch
McConnell. I’m fighting to keep this seat blue so we can protect our
imperiled democracy and deliver for Vermont families from Day One.

The Senate is split 50-50 right now—just one seat could be all the difference
in the quality of life for hundreds of millions of Americans, from climate
change to prescription drug costs and everything in between. And national
Republicans have put Vermont on their radar as a target for November.
Unlike Mitch McConnell and the Senate Republicans, I’ve chosen governing
over gridlock my entire career. I’ve brought home real results, and I’d be
honored to keep working for Vermonters as a U.S. senator. But first, we’ve
got to win this race.

Thanks so much,
Peter
