Assaults on our rights must be stopped

Hi John,

In a matter of weeks, millions of women across our nation will be deprived of their rights to control their bodies, health, and destiny.

That horrifying reality, one where Roe v. Wade no longer protects a woman’s right to choose, is a direct consequence of the rising power and reach of White Christian Nationalists

It’s deeply troubling to witness these fundamental rights being systematically dismantled before our eyes. And this movement of misogynistic, religious fanatics will not stop with Roe.

If you’ve seen the news and wondered what can one person do, I urge you to consider supporting the Center for Freethought Equality’s work to stop Christian Nationalists.

Contribute $15, $25, or $50 to Center for Freethought Equality’s midterm-year efforts to identify, recruit and support humanist and atheist candidates who staunchly support protecting a woman’s constitutional right to choose.

“Justice Samuel Alito’s leaked draft decision, steeped in authoritarian strains of religious dogma, is a road map for further erosions of the liberties all Americans enjoy.”

That was Katherine Stewart, writing for The New Republic last week, about how this painful decision by the Supreme Court will “serve as a model and platform for advancing a wider assault on individual rights and American democracy for the benefit of a privileged few.”

On their agenda? LGBTQ rights, including rolling back marriage equality. Further restrictions and criminalization of abortion and even contraception. Diverting public funds for education to support religious teaching in schools.

In just a few months, we’ll have a crucial opportunity to push back against this assault, by defeating Christian Nationalist candidates resoundingly.

If you believe in a pluralistic America, one that protects the rights of all individuals to control their bodies, to marry the person they love, and to live free from religion, this is the moment to support our work.

With gratitude in advance for your help.
