Russian state media is right now airing clips from Fox News of people like Donald Trump and Tucker Carlson praising Vladimir Putin.

When I was an admiral in the U.S. Navy and the commander of all U.S. forces in East Africa, I requested that Fox News be turned off in the mess halls during meal hours. Its lie-filled propaganda was a national security threat to my troops’ ability to carry out our mission.

I’ve seen the real-life consequences of disinformation and media lies that are manufactured and repeated by people like Donald Trump and his acolytes like my opponent Chuck Grassley. And as January 6th showed, it is a threat to our very democracy.
