Dear Friend,
Ruth’s List Florida is excited to announce our latest endorsements in two state house districts — LaVon Bracy Davis for HD 40 and Johanna López for HD 43. If elected, these women will bring strong, pro-choice leadership on behalf of Orange County to the legislature.
LaVon Bracy Davis is an advocate and community leader from West Orange County. Her love of service led her to pursue her Juris Doctor degree, and she went on to become a Senior Attorney for the Department of Children and Families. Currently she serves as the Senior Director of Community Programming at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, where she has led the diversification of community programming and generated record-breaking revenue.
Johanna López is a passionate educator and the first Latina to win the Teacher of the Year award from Orange County Public Schools. She was elected to represent District 2 on the Orange County School Board in 2018, in a campaign that was fully run by her current and former students. She has been recognized at the local, state, and national levels for her leadership in the classroom, and for founding Familias Presentes: Estudiantes Excelentes, an online forum to help parents navigate the public school system.
Ruth’s List is thrilled to lend our support to these phenomenal women. By making a contribution today, you can help ensure they have the resources to win their primaries in August. Click here or on the graphic below and your donation will be equally split between their campaigns.
