 John, I’ve been closely following all of our GOP opponents since we launched this campaign. As Josh’s Campaign Manager, I had to plan for this exact moment — when one of them becomes our official opponent. So I know a lot about Doug Mastriano. Mastriano has regularly promoted the QAnon conspiracy theory that believes a “group of Satan-worshiping elites” ran a sex ring and tried to control our politics and media — and he’s spoken at far-right, fringe events hosted by extremist groups. Worst of all, he attended the January 6th insurrection — even walking past police barricades at the U.S. Capitol. He spent his own campaign money to bus down Trump supporters, too — all in the name of putting Trump and absurd lies ahead of our democracy. As crazy as this all seems — we cannot just dismiss Mastriano as the fringe of the Republican Party. Their voters chose him, by a wide margin, to lead the ticket in this year’s elections.
