BP, Linde team up on Gulf Coast CCS project | Lipari will buy Deli-Boy and Big Apple Deli | Henry Schein names C-suite exec for N. America distribution
BP and Linde have unveiled plans to jointly develop a carbon capture and sequestration project on the Texas Gulf Coast that will store up to 16.5 million short tons per year of carbon dioxide captured from Linde's existing hydrogen production plants and other industrial facilities in the region. The project is expected to begin operations in 2026 and could help reduce Texas' CO2 emissions total by around 2%.
Lipari Foods has reached an agreement to acquire Deli-Boy and Big Apple Deli Products, both based in New York. Lipari said the deal would provide access to eight Eastern states, including New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia, where Deli-Boy and Big Apple supply more than 1,000 retailers.

The ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach report that the number of containers sitting longer than nine days has declined from an average of 95,000 boxes in late October to about 37,500 last week. Port of Los Angeles Executive Director Gene Seroka says impending penalty fees have "had a resounding effect" on shippers' efforts to expedite the movement of goods, even though the fees have been pushed back weekly since they were implemented in the fall.
