Hey there,

Today, I’d like to tell you about a historic reproductive rights campaign taking place right on our home turf in Michigan: Reproductive Freedom for All (RFFA). RFFA is a coalition mobilizing organizers and volunteers to give Michigan voters the chance to guarantee their reproductive freedom via ballot measure this November.

Here’s how it works: If the campaign gathers 425,059 signatures by July 11 , an amendment codifying reproductive rights into our state constitution will be added to our November ballot. Then, if the measure receives a simple majority of votes on Election Day, the amendment will go into effect, protecting abortion in the state of Michigan for good.

RFFA’s work is especially urgent given the Supreme Court’s intention to overturn Roe v. Wade. If they do so — and it appears increasingly likely they will — a 1931 abortion ban could immediately go back into effect in Michigan. Getting RFFA’s amendment on our ballot and passing it is the best way to ensure our permanent reproductive freedom.

Based on SCOTUS’ leaked decision overturning Roe and rumblings from the GOP about a nationwide ban on abortion, passing this ballot measure has never been more critical. So, today I am asking: will you split a donation between my campaign and RFFA so that we can guarantee every Michigander’s reproductive rights once and for all?

As you know, I have always been committed to the work of securing bodily autonomy for everyone. I firmly believe folks should be able to determine their own reproductive futures without unnecessary political interference. That’s why I’m on board with RFFA — they have a plan for real, concrete action to protect this right under the law.

The news about Roe hit me hard, and this campaign gives me hope that we can preserve abortion access, here in Michigan, and everywhere.

So, team: Will you split a donation today between my campaign and RFFA? Protecting our reproductive freedom will take critical support from all of us. RFFA is doing the groundwork to move emergency legal protections forward while I work in Congress to write policy to secure our rights.
