Demand BlackRock Cancel Zambia’s Debt

Hi friend,

Since we launched our campaign calling on financial giant BlackRock to cancel Zambia’s debt thousands of us have signed petitions, contacted BlackRock on social media and even turned up on their doorstep.

And they’re starting to feel the pressure.

BlackRock executives were forced to respond to our media story ([link removed]) . But we need to keep campaigning.

Zambia is in debt crisis, and BlackRock, one of their biggest lenders, could make over 110% profit if paid back in full.

Isaac Mwaipopo, a member of the Zambia Debt Alliance, told us “Zambia’s debt crisis is preventing people getting access to healthcare, education and other social services.

“We urgently need all of Zambia’s lenders, including BlackRock, to agree to cancel debt so we can recover from the Covid pandemic and the economic crisis we face."
