Dear John,

I spend a lot of the year traveling around the world, to see how our programs in places like Cambodia, Guatemala and Uganda, are doing.

And while each place is incredibly unique ... one thing is constant -- the gratitude the hardworking families we serve have for YOU.

I always wish you were there alongside me to hear for yourself the impact your generosity has on these industrious people. Whether it's the mother talking about how she didn't just receive a cow, but also training that will help her launch a business that will enable her to provide for her family for years to come ... or the father who can now afford to send his kids to school and give them the education he never had ... or the children who will no longer feel the pain of hunger.

Your kindness and compassion have made a profound and lasting difference in the lives of families around the world -- you just have to look at their smiles to see it for yourself.

So please know that today, the entire Heifer International family, from Ecuador to Senegal to Nepal to Little Rock, Arkansas -- and everywhere in between -- is thankful for you, John.
