Dear MoveOn member,

MoveOn made the headlines yesterday when we announced the launch of our
2022 election plan. Politico called it "a badly needed infusion for
Democrats facing an uphill battle this fall in a tough political
climate."^1

It's MoveOn's biggest midterm election campaign in our 23-year year
history; it has to be, because our country is at a tipping point: The
radical ideology that has taken over the Republican Party poses an urgent
threat to our lives, freedom, well-being, and democracy.

Just look at the white supremacist massacre in Buffalo this past Saturday.
The gunman espoused a racist conspiracy theory—that Black people and
immigrants are "replacing" white people—which has become mainstream in the
Republican Party and in right-wing media.^2 Tucker Carlson teaches
replacement theory nightly, and the third-highest-ranking Republican in
the House, Representative Elise Stefanik of New York, ran Facebook ads
last year parroting these claims.^3

And in the wake of the leaked U.S. Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v.
Wade, states are already moving to ban contraception.^4 America is on the
precipice of a MAGA takeover that would turn back the clock 50 years—or
more—and strip away our fundamental freedoms.^5

And yet, MAGA Republicans are expected to win the midterm elections this
fall—which means they'd take over the administration of elections in
battleground states and win control of Congress and the Senate.^6

Which is why, yesterday, MoveOn announced an unprecedented 2022 election
plan. For the first time in our 23-year history, we are investing millions
of dollars to elect secretaries of state and governors across the country
who will ensure fair elections and count every vote. And we will motivate
voters and run evidence-tested voter contact programs to turn out the
coalition of voters needed to stop MAGA extremists from taking over
Congress and the Senate, protect our freedoms and democracy, and continue
building an America where everyone can thrive.

Will you chip in $5 a month to power MoveOn's unprecedented
election year plan to defeat the radical MAGA agenda and elect
pro-democracy champions to defend our rights and our country?

[ [link removed] ]Yes, I'll chip in monthly.

[ [link removed] ]No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.

John, MAGA forces are gaining significant ground in their
effort to control U.S. elections.

A startling new investigation from The Guardian revealed that at least
eight of Georgia's county-level election officials are full-fledged
believers in Trump's Big Lie that the 2020 election was stolen.^7

Meanwhile, Big Lie conspiracy theorists are also running for secretary of
state in other battleground states, including Arizona and Georgia.^8

Add it up, and Donald Trump's cronies are on the verge of taking over the
election apparatus from top to bottom in the most important battleground
states.

It's a slow-motion coup unfolding right before our eyes. The MAGA GOP is
poised to fully take over Washington, D.C., too. And it’s going to be up
to us to stop them.

It's going to take all of us, starting today, to come together to defeat
the radical MAGA agenda and elect pro-democracy champions to defend our
rights and our country. Will you join us by starting a $5
monthly donation to help make this crucial work possible?

[ [link removed] ]Yes, I'll chip in monthly.

[ [link removed] ]No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.

Everything is on the line, but when we come together, we are powerful. We
defeated Trump in 2020, and we can do it again. But only together.

Thanks for all you do.

–Chris, Casey, Alexis, Isbah, and the rest of the team

Want to support MoveOn's work? Donald Trump's preparations for being able
to steal the presidency in 2024 are well underway and include working to
replace top election officials in battleground states with his own
loyalists. Which is why MoveOn is doing something we've never done in our
23-year history: We're launching a powerful, multimillion-dollar effort to
defeat Trump-backed secretaries of state across the country and elect
individuals who will count every vote and ensure fair elections.

our elections in 2022?
