Dear Fellow American,

Your emails made a huge difference in winning the fight against the Biden Disinformation Governance Board. Thank you!

Your emails helped me as I worked with Representative Lauren Boebert and Senators Tom Cotton, Rand Paul and Josh Hawley to defund the Board.  The truth is that some in Congress do listen. The uproar you helped create against the Department of Homeland Security running their own disinformation campaigns through social media platforms on issues like election integrity and COVID ultimately was too much for the Biden administration to withstand.

This afternoon in response to this announcement, I urged Congress to rip the language out of the law that made the noxious Disinformation Governance Board possible.  Here is the relevant part of the statement I must sent to the media and Congress,

“Now, with this announcement, Congress needs to focus its efforts related to censorship at DHS entirely by eliminating or defunding the language allowing communications to be issued to private sector social media companies and other interactive computer services. Failure to rip the authorizing law out by the roots that allows the censorship in violation of the First Amendment in the first place will make today’s announcement a Pyrrhic victory at best.

That’s right. Rather than resting on our laurels, we are redoubling our effort to get the language that created this problem repealed once and for all.

Personally, I don’t trust the Biden administration to keep their word that they won’t continue to direct social media companies to censor Americans. And that is why we are celebrating this development, but focusing like a laser beam on ending the legal language which unleashed our own Homeland Security Department on Americans First Amendment free speech rights.

Once again, thank you for your willingness to jump into this and other fights we bring before you.  And for those of you who have found it in your hearts to financially support Americans for Limited Government on this and/or other issues, I cannot express how much I am honored that you entrust us to be part of your team to fight for freedom in America.

Tomorrow, I will send you a follow up take action urging Congress to change the law, but for now, I just wanted to thank you for all you do to help preserve freedom in this time of peril.

In Liberty,

Rick Manning

President
