John,
Herschel Walker’s primary election for U.S. Senate is next Tuesday, May 24th.
In addition to knowing about a candidate’s policies, I think it’s helpful to
know a little about the individual too. I wanted to send you these five quick
questions we asked Herschel to tell us a little about himself.
Take a look at his answers below. If you’d like to help Herschel Walker win in
Georgia and flip the Senate RED, please consider chipping in to his campaign
here.

Question 1: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
<[link removed]>
Herschel: My former coach, Coach Tom Landry of the Dallas Cowboys, said, “If
you take something out of society, then you need to put something back in.”
When I was starting out in my athletic and business careers, I had numerous
coaches, mentors, pastors, and friends who took me under their wings and
encouraged me both personally and professionally. I want to pay that forward
and use the many opportunities God has blessed me with to help bless others.
Question 2: Best and worst part of running for office?
Herschel: I tell people this all the time — running for office is the greatest
thing I have ever done in my life. I love Georgia and feel called by God to
give back to the state that has given me so much. Julie and I are working some
long days, but we love traveling across the Peach State meeting with thousands
of Georgians and hearing their stories.
Question 3: Favorite memory on the football field?
Herschel: My favorite memory is playing for the University of Georgia in the
National Championship game against Notre Dame in 1981. I dislocated my shoulder
and ran over to the sidelines gripping my arm. Our trainer said I would need to
sit out, but I asked him to pop my shoulder back in place. He did, so I was
able to go back in and play. We ended up winning the game, and I was proud to
win a National Championship for my home state alongside my teammates!
Question 4: Dog or cat?
Herschel Walker: I went to UGA — so I have to say DAWG! My dog Cheerio is
absolutely incredible. He’s even on Twitter! You can follow him on Twitter
@CheerioWalker.

Question 5: What do you love most about Georgia?
Herschel: Definitely the people. It has been amazing to see the outpouring of
love and support across Georgia. We have been so encouraged to see folks from
across the political spectrum respond to our message and let us know that they
are on Team Herschel. Georgians love America, love God, and love our freedoms
that we all enjoy. We have found that what unites us is far greater than what
divides us.
Herschel’s Senate race in Georgia is one of the toughest – and most important
– races in the country. If we’re going to defeat Democrat Senator Raphael
Warnock in November, we must make sure Herschel wins his Republican primary
next Tuesday!
