November 28, 2019: The Thanksgiving family feast often includes turkey, pumpkin pie and much more. According to the Calorie Control Council (CCC), all the goodies can quickly add up to consuming 4,500 calories in just one day.[1]
The CCC estimates that a typical meal has 3,150 calories. That includes turkey, stuffing, gravy, chips, dip, and more.[1]
That’s just for the main course. Many people spend the day nibbling on appetizers and enjoying drinks while watching parades and football. That can add another 1,500 calories to the feast.[1]
