The threats to Roe and reproductive freedom remind us of the importance of elections and voting, and these runoff elections will have huge implications for the future of our state and our country.
This weekend, Lizzie joined LGBTQ supporters across the Houston area to celebrate the work of the Victory Fund. Along with Victory Fund President and former Houston Mayor Annise Parker, the crowd heard from organization representatives and elected allies who are all committed to increasing the diversity in our representative government.

In Congress, Lizzie co-sponsored the Equality Act to protect the LGBTQ+ community by prohibiting discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity in areas including public accommodations and facilities, education, federal funding, employment, housing, credit, and the jury system.
It’s so important — in this election and elections to come — that we work together to elect candidates who will champion equality at every level of government.
Lizzie was on “Houston Matters” to talk about the Supreme Court’s draft opinion overturning Roe v. Wade , what it means for Texans, and what she’s doing to protect reproductive rights.
