Dear John,
With the primary drawing closer, here’s what I’ve been focused for the last week:
- Spreading accurate voter information. Making your voice heard through voting is one of the most sacred responsibilities we have as citizens of a Democracy, so make sure you have your plan to vote. Head to the Georgia Democrats Voter Protection website for a guide on how to cast your ballot.
- I stopped by Macon, Georgia to meet and greet with Georgia Women (And Those Who Stand With Us). It was a pleasure to meet voters face-to-face and discuss their concerns and my plans to stand up for Georgians in Congress.
- I presented a $150 million dollar check to the Bibb County School System. As part of the American Rescue Plan, it will offer Macon-Bibb school systems much needed help in recovering from the pandemic. I was proud to have helped secure these essential funds for Bibb County children.
- I held a press conference with SafeHouse Ministries about ensuring homeless veterans are housed and supported. Supporting veteran and military families is one of my core values, and I was proud to be a part of announcing this partnership between SafeHouse Ministries and Plummer House that will help get 100 more veterans off the street.
One last thing: We need to double-down on our efforts if I’m going to keep this seat and keep fighting for middle and southwest Georgia. Can you chip in $5 to help?
Thank you for being with me in this.
Congressman Sanford D. Bishop
