Yesterday was our biggest primary yet of this midterm cycle. It left us
with much to take away. We had some huge victories, from witnessing the
historic Democratic nominations of Cheri Beasley and Charles Booker to
numerous state and local candidates adding to our progressive bench.

We also witnessed one of the defining battles of these midterms:
progressives vs. dark money interests. While Summer Lee fought like hell
and made history with your help, mobilizing our grassroots coalition,
Erica Smith and Nida Allam were not able to overcome this huge hurdle.

The dark money groups like AIPAC and ultra-wealthy billionaires poured
over $7.5 million into countless misleading attack ads smearing
DFA-endorsed candidates to try and buy elections!

The ability of these groups to anonymously influence our politics with an
onslaught of secret money underscores a broken political financing system
that massively privileges billionaires, corporate Super PACs, and
ultra-wealthy donors over everybody else.

But we know that nothing, not even dark money, is better than our strategy
of deep organizing, which helps our candidates lead, fight, and win.

progressives, our candidates need all of the resources they can get to
counter this outside spending and mobilize voters. Please chip in $22 or

We know that the best way to cut through the noise of tens of millions of
dollars being spent on the airwaves is with a strong grassroots organizing
program to register new voters and mobilize a broad coalition of voters to
the polls.

As Summer Lee’s huge victory showed, progressives win when we work with
allies on the ground to mobilize new American majority voters to the
polls. Together, we can overcome any multi-million dollar war chest filled
with dark money.
