Last night was a big night in Pennsylvania.

My friend and fellow Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman won the Democratic Senate primary, which means he is now officially the nominee to flip Pennsylvania's Senate seat from red to blue.

Let me be as direct as I can be:

John and I are the two votes needed to end the filibuster in the Senate so that we can pass meaningful legislation on so many of the issues we all care about. And the races we are running in are two of the best pick-up opportunities for Democrats — they’re the ONLY TWO GOP-held seats in states that Joe Biden won in 2020.

But the ONLY way he and I will have the resources to win our respective races is if lots of people contribute what they can. And now that John is the Democratic nominee in Pennsylvania, there's never been a more important time to show your support.

So today, I need to ask:

Besides the both of us being Lieutenant Governors, John and I share quite a bit in common.

We both support codifying Roe v. Wade into law to protect abortion rights.

We both support legalizing marijuana and reforming our broken criminal justice system.

We both support the right of workers to form a union and demand fair pay and dignity on the job.

We both support taking urgent and immediate action to address the climate crisis.

We both support health care as a basic human right that must be guaranteed for all.

We both support protecting voting rights so that all eligible voters can participate in our democracy.

And now, we are both running for Senate in races that will decide whether Democrats continue to hold the majority.

Wisconsin and Pennsylvania are the best opportunities to flip Republican-held seats. But whether or not we're able to win will come down to people like you.
