Dear John,

Last night, our primary elections set the slate of Republicans and Democrats who will vie to represent us in November. They were chosen by only a small portion of our citizenry, in most cases representing the most partisan, most extreme wings of their parties. The quality of many of the candidates nominated reflect that extremism.

In some cases, moderate and sensible voters feel like they don’t have a voice, or a choice, in these elections. Conspiracies, election lies, populism, and division will be the odds-on favorite to win many elections this year.

That’s why it’s critical we not abandon our fight to restore sanity to our politics by bolstering Renewers like Matt Cartwright and Susan Wild. Their bipartisan record and commitment to problem-solving make them a rarity in this political landscape. We need to prove that unifying leadership is more powerful than extreme partisanship.

          

We’re organizing a cross-partisan coalition to defend the defenders of democracy this November. Pennsylvanians may have several radicals vying for power, but we also have courageous and principled candidates as well.

The primaries do not have to write our political destiny. Make sure your fellow Pennsylvanians know about the Renew America Movement and the coalition we’re building. Then help us spread the word about the work we’re doing in support of Renewers in Pennsylvania and around the country.
