You are invited to join Health Affairs Editor-in-Chief Alan Weil for the
next installment of our Policy Spotlight series.

On Monday, May 23, we'll host Nakela Cook, MD, MPH, executive director
of the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), an
independent, nonprofit organization authorized by Congress in 2010 to
improve the quality and relevance of evidence available to help
patients, caregivers, clinicians, employers, insurers, and policymakers
make better-informed health decisions.

Dr. Cook leads PCORI in its second decade of service to the nation
advancing patient-centered comparative clinical effectiveness research.

She is a cardiologist and health services researcher with a
distinguished career leading key scientific initiatives engaging
patients, clinicians, and other healthcare stakeholders.

Before joining PCORI, Dr. Cook served as Senior Scientific Officer and
Chief of Staff at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute of the
National Institutes of Health.
