Hey, John, it's Daniel (Abby's husband). First, I wanted to say thank you for being a part of this team. We're building a true grassroots movement, and I really appreciate you being a part of it. Second, I wanted to provide a few important updates ahead of Abby's biggest (and public) FEC fundraising deadline at 11:59 p.m. TONIGHT.
Let's back up a bit and talk about Abby's opponent: Sen. Grassley (R-IA), who is facing RECORD-LOW approval with Iowa voters. He's spent his seven terms in office advancing far-right ideologies and sabotaging efforts to help working families. We didn't think it could get much worse, but then he defended Donald Trump's dangerous conspiracy theories and attempts to overturn last year's election. Then, he stood on stage with Trump at a rally here in Iowa and wholeheartedly accepted his endorsement. Honestly, as an Iowan and an American, it's been scary to watch.
I know I'm biased, but Abby is the exact opposite of Sen. Grassley and she is exactly the sort of person we need in the Senate. Seeing Abby fight for her community every single day gives me hope. She's everything that a leader should be: caring, passionate, hard-working, determined and ready to sit down and talk with anyone, regardless of their party. She's the senator our state deserves and the one that it desperately needs.
That brings me back to the FEC deadline Abby's up against. It's both an opportunity and a challenge: an opportunity to publicly – to the pundits, the media and Sen. Grassley himself – show the strength of this campaign. It's also a challenge to raise what we need to compete, particularly with the Senate Republican campaign arm sitting on $44 million in the bank to attack competitive challengers like Abby.
We set a goal to blow this fundraising goal out of the water by raising $75,000 – and with just hours to spare before this FEC deadline, we're not quite there yet. I get we're asking for a massive surge in grassroots support, but frankly, it's what it will take to compete and win this race.
So please, John: Can you make your very first donation of $5 to help Abby defeat Sen. Grassley, lift up the voices of working families like ours and protect our Senate majority?

Thanks for all that you do. It means so much to Abby and me.
