I don’t know about you, friend, but my past few birthdays haven’t been the most fun. There’s something about a pandemic, a knock-down-drag-out election, and a constant barrage of bad decisions from Iowa Republicans that doesn’t exactly make you feel like celebrating.

I’m 28 today and we’re still fighting the same fights – protecting abortion access, making sure public dollars stay in public schools and ensuring every Iowan has access to the ballot box.

But I know that our state is worth fighting for and that taking the moments of joy when we find them in these difficult times is the fuel we need to carry on.

I do have an ask – consider it a birthday gift – $28 for 28. (You knew it was coming, friend.)

I don’t want to be fighting these same fights this time next year. I want Iowa Democrats to take back the Iowa Legislature and finally pass the pro-choice, pro-working families, pro-public education legislation that Republicans have held hostage during their trifecta. 

With your support, we can make that a reality. Whatever you can spare right now makes a difference and keeps us moving toward a brighter future.

(A future that will hopefully not include me asking for $29 for 29 to fight the same fights next year.)
