The planet is on fire. Gas prices are skyrocketing.
But Postmaster General and Trump holdover Louis DeJoy is still trying to move forward with his plan to spend billions on a fleet of gas-guzzling trucks that get 8.6 miles per gallon.1
But Louis DeJoy got some very bad news: He's being sued.
A coalition of environmentalists, autoworkers, and state attorneys general filed lawsuits to stop this sweetheart deal for polluters and force DeJoy to buy clean electric vehicles instead – as President Biden intended. And since DeJoy skipped legally required environmental reviews and ignored the recommendations of the U.S. Postal Service inspector general, they have a good chance to win.2
Demand Progress members and our allies have helped build widespread public awareness that Louis DeJoy is a corrupt Trump crony who should be fired. Now, with your help, we can help push more letters demanding that Congress stop his gas-guzzling boondoggle.

DeJoy signed a contract and made a down payment on 165,000 gas-powered trucks before any environmental review was made public. He failed to consider cleaner alternatives. He ignored environmental impacts, including air pollution and global warming.3
Those steps are all required by law, and DeJoy skipped all of them.
Worse yet, Oshkosh Defense, the corporation that got the deal for the trucks, promised to provide 1,000 union jobs when it got the contract but then moved the work to a non-union state.4
DeJoy has given the Biden administration and Congress every reason to step in and overrule this purchase. This should be the final straw. Louis DeJoy should be fired. Now.
It's up to us to sound the alarm through our massive online following and make so much noise the White House and Congress can't ignore us.
Demand Progress already helped to pass the Postal Service Reform Act. Now we are activating our 1 million-plus membership to insist that DeJoy's deal be blocked and the USPS fleet electrified, and we're not letting up.
