John, did you know that today is National Visit Your Relatives Day? Today is a day of celebration and a reminder to check in on your relatives and loved ones who you may have not seen in a while.
For the Iranian-American community, what is supposed to be a heartwarming celebration is a reminder that for many of us, our relatives can't visit us because they’re unable to get visas. Even though we worked hard to rescind Trump’s Muslim Ban, we still have a lot of work to do to remove the existing barriers left in place by the ban, such as the backlogs which are prolonging our long-awaited reunification with family.
Due to unfair and discriminatory policies, Iranians have a difficult time getting visas approved to come to visit family in the United States. Some of us have not seen our parents or grandparents in years.
NIAC Action will continue to fight for the policies that matter most to our community – and fighting for equitable immigration is one of the biggest issues facing Iranian Americans right now.
Will you contribute to NIAC Action's mission of addressing the broken immigration process so we can be reunited with our relatives?

Today, I hope that you're able to video or call your loved ones, in Iran and America, and that someday soon, we can all hug those we haven’t seen in a while.
In this together,
Donna Farvard
