I’m very proud that just days after news of the Supreme Court’s decision emerged, Governor Lamont signed a first-in-the-nation law passed by our state’s Democratic majorities in the State Senate and House to make Connecticut a safe harbor for reproductive freedom.
This law builds upon Connecticut’s existing protections by expanding who is able to provide abortion care in our state, and protects medical providers and out-of-state patients who receive abortions in Connecticut from lawsuits.
The Connecticut Democratic Party is working to ensure that Governor Lamont and every other Democrat on the ballot this November win so that this progress can continue. At this month’s state convention, we endorsed a powerful slate of Democrats who will fight to fortify reproductive freedom for everyone in our state.
Connecticut Democrats have made it very clear: we are not going back, and we will always fight to protect your fundamental rights.
