Dear John,

You are invited to support Barbara Bry for San Diego County Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk at a reception in Mission Hills on Monday, June 6 from 5:30-7 pm. ([link removed])

You may have noticed her name is not on your mail ballot, since there is no primary - only a general election - for this critical office. The ARCC ensures that properties are appraised fairly and accurately under the law. These taxes fund critical services like our schools. Barbara Bry would be the first woman elected to this countywide seat. Most importantly, she is the MOST QUALIFIED candidate.

One of this office’s key functions is to appraise new construction accurately and get it onto the property tax rolls as quickly as possible at its new and fair value in order to generate more revenue for education and other public programs. The office has struggled for at least six years to implement what is called an integrated property tax management system. Furthermore, the former chief technology official is being investigated by the District Attorney for allegedly funneling contracts to his wife.

That’s why Barbara’s background is so important—her experience as a technology entrepreneur, her understanding of complex issues, and her willingness to speak out which is what she did as the first elected official to demand an independent investigation of the 101 Ash Street fiasco.
