May Revise Doesn’t Go Far Enough

Late last week, Governor Gavin Newsom released his revised 2022-2023 state budget proposal.

NPH has reviewed the May Revise, and our key takeaways are:

NPH will continue to work diligently with our partners and allies, making the case for affordable housing and pressuring our lawmakers to prioritize the future of our communities.

There’s still time to increase the housing investments in the state budget: Submit a quick, pre-filled letter to your local representative inviting them to advocate for affordable housing and homelessness solutions for the final state budget due in June.

Two-thirds of the Bay Area’s extremely low-income households are spending more than half of their earnings to pay rent, according to new data found through the California Housing Partnership’s “Housing Needs Report.

This data shows where we are today, but it doesn’t show where we have to be. Let's innovate and collaborate to ensure that our coordinated, long-term solutions proactively prevent displacement and homelessness among our neighbors.
