Hello,
Living in Vermont means taking full advantage of all the unparalleled
natural beauty we can find right outside our doors. I love that we can
take a couple steps outside and find hiking trails, streams, and rolling
hills and mountains. It’s a treasure for Vermonters—and it invites folks
from around the world to come discover all Vermont has to offer, too.
But the climate crisis threatens all of this. If we don’t act with
urgency, temperatures will keep rising—damaging not only the environment,
but our livelihoods and quality of life. We still have time to fight back,
but we need to act—and fast. That’s why I’m an original co-sponsor of the
Green New Deal, so we can protect our planet and all that makes Vermont so
special.

There are so many common-sense steps we can take right now. We can
establish a national renewable energy standard, accelerate the adoption of
electric vehicles, create millions of good-paying jobs, and more.
But first, we need Congress to acknowledge the urgency of this moment.
Republicans in Washington keep burying their heads in the sand. If they
take back control, they’ll only fight for failure. That’s why we’ve got to
hold on to our Democratic majorities—and we must expand them to deliver
more results.
