My number one priority as Secretary of State is defending our democracy. That means, I lead with the truth and do everything in my power to correct the record about our election system.

This past weekend, two extreme candidates for governor and secretary of state actively spread disinformation about the 2020 election.

They both have made bizarre, irresponsible and downright false statements about our elections, with one even going so far as saying that the 2020 election was “rigged” and “lawless.”

Listen, these hyper-partisan candidates cannot spread disinformation unchecked.
