The federal funding that Americans relied on for the past year to cover the costs of COVID-19 testing, vaccinations, and treatment has now run out because Republicans refused to fund it. First they blocked renewing it in the Omnibus appropriations bill. Then they “uncoupled” it from the $40 billion Ukraine aid bill that passed in the House and will be taken up soon by the Senate.

As we’ve said before, the current round of inflation is primarily caused by corporate greed and supply chain issues, rather than the state of our economy. But for a majority of Americans, covering the pandemic costs of testing, vaccination, and treatment is another financial burden on top of the rising costs of food, gasoline, and housing, and will further reduce our purchasing power.

Congress must pass urgent legislation to address the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and mitigate the impact of inflation on American families’ budgets.

Tell your members of Congress ([link removed]) to approve COVID-19 relief funding and provide urgent economic relief for American families.
